Inspired by the explosion of the UK Latin scene in the mid 1990’s, Del Camino soon established itself as one of the most well-known and respected salsa bands in the UK. Del Camino has performed at a host of well-known venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Symphony Hall in Birmingham, The Lowry in Manchester and The Wardrobe in Leeds. Del Camino has also performed at a number of festivals including Glastonbury 2010, The World Beat Festival, Orange WOW Festival and Party In The Park.
Del Camino has a diverse line-up which includes a mixture of Latin American and mixed British. The band has a dynamic new sound which boasts slick arrangements of pop classics from the likes of Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Lionel Richie. The band continues to perform an impressive repertoire of well-known salsa classics from the likes of Oscar D’León, Marc Anthony, and Buena Vista Social Club.
Del Camino has supported some of the most respected names in the business including UB40, Robert Plant, Beverley Knight, Tony Christie, Roachford and more recently Plan B. Drawing on a wealth of experience, individual members of Del Camino have also performed with Plan B, The Beat and Courtney Pine. Del Camino continues to maintain their longstanding popular monthly residency in conjunction with Latin Motion at The Jam House in Birmingham on the last Thursday of every month.
